Updates on firewood supply, processor status, closures and more.
Big Processor Broke Down
We will be relying on our small firewood processor only for the remainder of the week, and likely all of next week.
We’ve been welding and patching link breaks in our big processor’s chain conveyor for years, and we finally decided it’s time to replace the whole thing.
This means that our dark wood supply will be limited, and pieces will generally be split a little bigger.
We should be able to keep up with demand still, but there may be some delays and longer wait times.
Thank you for understanding. We will update you as things progress!
2/14 Update
Good morning, all!
We are out of this cold snap, with warmer weather ahead!
WMW is open on Friday 2/14, but will be again fighting to keep up with demand with just our smaller processor running.
We are starting the day with very little wood below to be picked. The first few loads off of our machine will be dumped below.
We won’t start filling customer trucks/trailers until about 10 am.
We will have longer wait times than usual for both hand-pickers and those getting filled by our processor.
The part for our big processor will be here on Monday, so next week should go much smoother.
Thank you!
Stay warm!
Important 2/13 Update
Hello everybody! We are almost through this cold snap, but it appears that Thursday might be the roughest day of the winter for us at WMW.
We will be starting the day off with only about 1 cord of hand-load wood. Our big processor is currently broke down, and we won’t be able to start our smaller one until about 10 am due to the cold.
We will then spend the next two hours cutting wood to dump below for our hand-pickers.
We WILL NOT be filling any customer trailers or trucks until the afternoon.
There will be longer wait times than usual for both hand-loaders and those looking to get filled under our conveyor.
We hope you have enough wood to not have to deal with these conditions tomorrow, but if not, we will see here and do our best to accommodate you.
Thank you!
Stay warm.
Let’s work together
