House Logs

At Wild Montana Wood we offer Quality house logs cut mostly by us. We have two logging sides specializing in clearing and maintaining public and private land with always a sustainable forestry initiative program in place. We take personal pride in promoting healthy rivers, streams and lakes while leaving the forest more resistant to wildfire. Due to our unique geographical area in Western Montana, our timber stands are slow growing due to the long winters promoting tight growth rings and very dense wood.

We offer Western Larch, Douglas Fir, Engelmann Spruce, Lodgepole pine and Ponderosa pine on request. Our Douglas Fir is mostly used for Timbers, Beams, and dimension lumber. Most everything we offer is cut green and sold green with the customer responsible for shipping charges.

Add life to your dream home or project with a touch of Montana wilderness.

Availability and prices vary throughout the year.

Larch House Logs

The densest of our species of logs, larch logs are strong, straight and durable. Ideal for structure and support.

Fir Beam Logs

Douglas Fir is a very durable, resilient soft wood. It is ideal for beam work as fir logs are commonly straight-grained with without much taper. They hold bolts and screws well, have a great strength-weight ratio, and can withstand the test of time.

Lodgepole House Logs

Lodgepole house logs are choice for building due to their limited amount of twist and taper, durability, and beautiful finish.

Spruce Logs

Spruce Logs are strong and rigid logs. Spruce is very moisture-resistant, is light and easy to work with.
